All this new traffic and redesigning the blog has made me think a lot about my blog “mission”. And of course there is some sort of meme/challenge/group for it!
As you may have noticed, I’ve already started updating my About & Contact Page. It’s not just an eclectic assortment of buttons anymore. I’ve got a “Contact Me” form up (as well as the email-me button), and now we’ll be adding my Blog Mission statement!
MONNIBLOG
Tagline: monnibo + blog = monniblog
About: Monniblog is a personal weblog about life on the West Coast of Canada, including arts & crafts, book reviews, technology and all things geeky.
Mission: To provide a creative space for myself while providing entertainment for other bloggers and making new friends.
Do you buy books while on vacation/holiday? Do you have favorite bookstores that you only get to visit while away on a trip? What/Where are they?
Yes — I bring books on vacation to read. I bring books nearly everywhere with me, just in case! I don’t have any favourite spots exactly, because I don’t often go to the same place… but when we’re in Manchester (England), I can’t stop wandering around Waterstones. I just love it in there! I wish I could work there! That would be so much fun. Can you imagine all the staff discounts? … I’d amass so many books I wouldn’t be able to afford to ship them back to Canada (as that’s what I did with my books last winter).
I just upgraded to WordPress 2.6, and as my WordPress.com friends were complaining about a couple weeks ago — they have removed the “add picture” button. I suppose this makes sense, as with the new Add media bar, the add picture button was a bit redundant… but I still liked it’s ease of use.
I’m mad that they didn’t move the “Categories” up to beside the “Write a Post” window. Ugh I always forget to select my category since they made this change in 2.1!
I’m playing with some new plugins, so you might notice some changes around here. I’ll keep everyone updated
