My knit-years resolutions are as follows:

1. Knit lace (Gothic Leaf Stole by Sivia Harding for my mom)
2. Knit a blanket for myself (I’ve been collecting various purple yarn for a year now)
3. Knit a sweater (details undecided)

Sweet, short, and (not so) simple.
This is sort of in conjunction with joining the Fearless Knitting KAL. (Look I made pretty buttons! My logic was people will pick the button which reflects their fear. I’ll be displaying the lace one… and I guess when I face that fear, I’ll be putting the blocking one up! Haha.)

I absolutely refuse to “reflect” upon the past year of 2007. I only ever discover how little I’ve done, or how disappointed I am with the arguments I’ve had. I seem to have difficulty focusing on the positive. Does this mean that I have to make a list of positives? No! I refuse. Highlights? Maybe. In a specific order? No! Summary of Events. Absolutely not! So here it goes:

• Was Managing Editor of the magazine
• Bought my domain: www.mcmiller.ca
• Bought a new domain for my blog (*gasp* I gave away the secret!)
• Moved to England: November 2007
• 2-year anniversary dating Craig: July 29, 2007
• Plunged full-force back into knitting
• Sort of converted blog to a knitblog
• Graduated from Publishing Program
• Made some amazing friends in the Publishing Program
• Made some amazing knitblog friends
• Participated in some really fun knitting swaps
• Got my full driver’s license: June 2007

I’m reading this amazing book right now. I’m really enjoying it and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of romance in their fiction. It’s called The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, which was her debut novel (2003). It’s about Henry DeTamble, who has a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel uncontrollably.

When he is in his late 30′s and 40′s, he time travels backwards and meets Clare Abshire, who is 6 at the time. They fall in love and he is there when she is growing up. In the future, they are married, but Henry will rarely tell Clare about the future. When Clare is 20, she meets Henry (age 28) in the present, who has no idea who she is. From there, they develop a relationship (that she has had since she was 6) and they end up getting married.

The story is all about their relationship and his genetic disorder; exploring any way to change his genetics, and learning about how if Henry hadn’t been able to time travel, they would have never met. There are some amazing little quirks when Henry has said/done things in the past that affect the future… but yet they don’t. It’s hard to explain. Like on their wedding day, Henry got stressed out which caused him to time travel, but some Henry from the future had time travelled back to their wedding day and was able to take his own place at the church ceremony.

As soon as I started reading it, I commented how if the right director go a hold of this, they could make an amazing movie. Well, now while I was looking up about the author, Audrey Niffenegger, I discovered that Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams are slated to be Henry and Clare in a 2008 release of “The Time Traveller’s Wife”.

According to Wikipedia, “directors Steven Spielberg and David Fincher briefly expressed interest in the project, though no negotiations took place… in November 2006, director Robert Schwentke was instead hired to take over the project… In January 2007, New Line hired screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin to rewrite Leven’s script.^[3] Filming began in Toronto on September 10, 2007.”

Robert Schwentke is best known for directing “Tattoo” and “Flightplan“. Bruce Joel Rubin is known as the screenwriter for “Ghost“, “Deep Impact“, “Jacob’s Ladder“, and “Sleeping with the Enemy“. Eric Bana has been in “Hulk“, “Munich“, “Troy” and “Black Hawk Down“. Rachel McAdams has starred in “The Notebook“, “Mean Girls“, and “Wedding Crashers“.
