I compiled this from video clips I took on the second day of Pancake’s visit. Henry is a little better but still doesn’t like when the bunny hops straight at him.
P.S. You know how YouTube suggests similar videos to watch? You have to see these! Cute overload!!

Do you ever wonder what kind of shenanigans and adventures your pets get up to when you’re not home? I can tell you with 99.9% certainty that Henry does exactly this:

Happy Whiskers on Wednesday to the other humans out there!

Henry’s favourite toy is a large, crinkly, plastic bag.

He likes to sit in them and just watch me, but he also loves to play in them too. I should remember to take a video next time he’s playing! Happy Whiskers on Wednesday.

Here's winking at you babe ;)

Occasionally Henry gets all squinty in one of his eyes. I’ve taken him to the vet and he doesn’t have a scratch on the cornea or anything. I think sometimes he just gets a piece of fur in his eye that I can’t seem to get out. The other day it happened again, and he looked so much like a little pirate cat winking at me, that I decided to make him an eye patch.

If I’m out of town for more than 24 hours, my mom likes to have my cat, Henry, over for a visit. Last weekend (Canada Day long weekend) I went out of town so my mom had Henry over. My sister is also out of town so she’s currently taking care of my sister’s cat, Sasafrass, too.
A few weekends ago the cats were napping and had swapped blankets; Henry was on Sasafrass’ and Sasafrass was on Henry’s blanket pad. I cooed and melted and couldn’t believe mom hadn’t snapped a picture. So last weekend, mom made sure to take photos of the furkids (her grandcats) sleeping.

Happy Whiskers on Wednesday!

Does this box make my butt look big?
Henry is a simple cat; he likes crumpled paper, plastic bags, and cardboard boxes. I usually have one for him that’s an appropriate size, but when I finished unpacking his cat food the other week, he immediately settled in. I find the standard 11 x 17 -ish boxes to be a tad small, so I usually save a sodapop flat from Costco for him.
P.S. No, Henry doesn’t have a complex about his weight. He’s happy, healthy, and living on the larger side of life.

Craig sent me some photos of his mum’s cats chilling out at the house. Happy Whiskers on Wednesday!!

This is Minstrel. I prefer to call him Poofa because I don’t think his name suits him. He’s the newest edition to the family.

This is Charlie. When he gets really happy, he starts to kneed and puts his mouth really close to you and drools a little.

This is my favourite photo of the bunch. Flossy is a gorgeous calico and very fiesty.

Last week I was home sick with a bit of a stomach bug. Henry made sure to take good care of me and give me lots of snuggles. Please excuse the craptastic photos as I was using PhotoBooth on my Macbook. Also, no comments on how craptastic I look… it was a sick day afterall.

I have a question for all you feline slaves owners lovers out there. And it’s a bit of a hairy topic: furballs.
The reason I ask, as you probably deduced, is that Henry coughed up a hairball. But this wasn’t any hairball, this was like a fur-roll the size of my pinky finger. Ew gross mental images. Here, look at the pretty kitty for distraction:

I would classify Henry’s coat as a medium-length. I’ve been looking at breeds, and unless he’s just a regular American longhair, orange tabby… I would probably describe him as a Ragamuffin (all the way down to his “fatty pad on lower abdomen” which made the Vet say he needed more exercise.). All the Ragamuffin characteristics seem like Henry: “They greet family members at the door and will follow their people around the house. Because of their gentle nature, Ragamuffins are generally kept indoors for their own protection. They tend to be very vocal at times and are very lovable.”
Okay, now, back to the hairball business. I brush Henry. Maybe not as often as I should (weekly) but I do brush him (every 2-3 weeks) with a Furminator. He’s not particularly pleased with the Furminator, but he puts up with it.
So my question(s) are: How often do your cats get hairballs? Do they cough them up or pass them? How big are they usually? Is there anything I can do to avoid coming home to barfy-hairballs on my carpet?
