Friday Fill-in #113

February 27th, 2009 by monnibo

  1. I’m tired, I’m indecisive, I am having second thoughts.
  2. Why do I have to wake up and not just sleep in.
  3. How does this Twitter thing work, anyway? (Or more importantly, what’s the point of it!?)
  4. Every morning, I put my phone in my pocket
  5. I consider myself lucky because I have parents who will/can support me.
  6. One day we’ll see THE WORLD. (Yes, I have a Bucket List!)
  7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to doing absolutely nothing, tomorrow my plans include class  in the morning(ugh!), but it’s Adobe InDesign(yay!) and Sunday, I want to enjoy a cuppa tea at the inaugural T.E.A. meetup!

Monnibo Designs

December 1st, 2008 by monnibo

Formerly Crafty Creations by Monica M., I am now relaunching my knitting patterns and jewellery designs as Monnibo Designs.

The idea is that this will encompass all of my creative endeavours, so if I decide to start selling skirts or bags that I sew, they can become part of Monnibo Designs. Please take the time to check out my jewellery designs if you haven’t already — I’m really proud of some of them and they’d make great Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa gifts! *wink wink*

Yessir, Yessir, Three Bags Full

September 4th, 2008 by monnibo

My favourite LYS (and I mean super local) celebrated their 2nd Year Anniversary this weekend. Back in March, my sister gave me a gift certificate to the LYS for my birthday. So, gift certificate in hand, boyfriend in tow, I headed to Three Bags Full on Sunday.

I didn’t really buy three bags full of yarn (unlike some of my Terminal City Yarn Wranglers), but I got three lovely skeins!

That’s my first ever Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Oceanos (*gasp* I know Anne!)
And my favourite – Blue Sky Alpacas 100% Organic Dyed Cotton in Thistle and Orchid.

I can’t wait to make:

Can you guess? Give up? (Don’t cheat by looking at my Rav Progress Bars). Click the links for the Ravelry projects to Calorimetry, Diagonal Lace Scarf, and Anthropologie-Inspired Capelet.

Lattice Facecloth

August 5th, 2008 by monnibo

When you (avid knitter and blog-visitor) saw this post title, you were thinking, “Yay! Some honest to goodness knitting content! Finally she has an FO to show off!”

I’m sorry; you are wrong. I merely wrote up a pattern that had been getting a lot of faves on Ravelry. It’s a free download on Ravelry. And I wrote it up wrong back in July (because I knit the facecloth over 8 months ago…) and so I had to message everyone, and yea… it’s been downloaded over 200 times. But it’s up and running now (and it’s correct!)

Snowflake Cloth

October 3rd, 2007 by monnibo

I designed this suuuuper simple Snowflake Dishcloth. The one I knitted was a little too rectangular for my taste, so I added about 4 rows into the pattern (rows 6 & 7) so the snowflake itself is still symmetrical. Everyone is more than welcome to knit it! Enjoy. [Edit: I think it's still a little too small... I've added some CO stitches as well as a couple more rows.]
