Henry isn’t up for Whiskers on Wednesday, so his cousin Sasafrass (my sister’s cat) is stepping in. At family dinner last Sunday my sister had her dressed in a lovely ruffle.

Sasafrass absolutely loved her ruffle. It was a soft satin ribbon pinned with a safety pin. She has a hard time sitting still when there is so much excitement going on and I only got these photos because she was waiting for a treat (raw chicken!).
P.S. Henry is fine… but he had a vet visit today which stresses him out. He starts breathing hard, panting, and his heart races. He hates his carrier and can’t wait to get out of it. Usually a car ride is endured because we’re visiting my parents’… but a vet visit is different.

The ruffle looks very elegant on Miss Sassafrass. I’d be a tad worried about the safety pin thing, tho. Trying to thing of a safer alternative…think, think, think..
My cats would freak if I put a ruffle on them! I have five cats, so you can imagine the trauma of vet visits. I have resorted to a vet that does housecalls. STILL! My white cat (the one on my blog header) is psycho. I put him in a carrier at least an hour before the vet arrives, so he will have time to calm. But when the vet shows up, he starts spinning in circles and trying to fight his way out. You can imagine what it is like to give the cat a shot! We have to use a soft carrier and shoot him through the mesh, otherwise he shreds us. I know this is way more than you wanted to know, but had it get it off my chest. It is time for the vet visit again and I’m stressing out!
Oh my. She is elegant!!! I want to have her perch on my shoulder and just purr and purr…
Gretchen has the same reaction to any car ride longer than about 30 minutes. Tranquilizers didn’t work, so I’m waiting on a call now from the vet…
Isn’t she a little gem. She must love getting dolled up.
I hope Henry has time to relax now that the vet trip is over.
What a gorgeous, sleek looking kitty! Love the ruffle, too. :)
