Oh my! Also sounds to me like he's trying to get people to buy *his* tea " You may not believe me now but if you try the tea I offer if you will not want to drink any of their tea."

Good for you for not being kept down. I look forward to getting out to experience some of the local tea shops!

It's funny - im curious - does the new organizer "sell" his teas to the participants? Or does he give them out in the interests of education?

When i read it, my first reaction wasnt SNOB (though he is a dipwad), it was "Salesperson" or "Weasel".

And ditto to everyone above - personal preference or personal choice is nothing to sneer at. Everyone has their own tastes, and it's ok. That's exactly the attitude that made wine so elitist for years until they realized how many people they turned off by being such snots.

Good grief! You are right, a total SNOB! Sounds to me that he think ONLY his tea is good tea... what an ass.

Had to stop reading - really - because I could feel my blood pressure rising. The beauty of tea is it can be enjoyed so many different ways... but I won't preach to the choir. ;)

No question about it, SNOB in a most un-pleasant way. My friends laughingly call me a tea snob...but I don't try to tell people what to like, I just like to share information; folks are free to do whatever they like with it!

Snobs of any variety are just no fun. Tea, coffee, everyday living. It is all a matter of choice and varies from day to day. Somedays I like my coffee from the grocery store brewed in my little maker, somedays I have to french press. Same with tea. Cookies. Laundry. Geeeeezzzzz.....now I am irritated.

Anyway...sorry this happened to you. Bummer.

Question not related to post, I could email, but I am sick/lazy right now...Do you know of any good cupcake places in the Vancouver area? My friend(s) and I are coming up at the end of March to see Jodi Picoult (I think we have settled on Vancouver and not Seattle this time) and we really, really need cupcakes to make the trip traditional (it is for my birthday too)....So, if you could help me out (or not) I would be much appreciative!

Happy Thursday! :)
