Lights of Hope at St. Paul’s Hospital
December 19th, 2008 by monnibo | Out & About, Photos / Videos
This is the main hospital in downtown Vancouver and I was born here (in the now defunct maternaty ward). At the end of November each year, they put up the Lights of Hope — a holiday light display errected on the exterior of this gorgeous heritage building.

“Lights of Hope — Vancouver’s landmark holiday display is a welcome show of light in the winter. Every year, dedicated volunteers set up this festive display using donated materials so that your donation to the Lights of Hope fundraising campaign can help St. Paul’s caregivers and scientists continue their inspired care and research.” [Visit their website for more information]

Beautiful lights! One of the hospitals near my home puts up lights along the Chesapeake Bay. You have to drive through it to see all them all. My daughter enjoys it, and the entrance fee goes to the hospital for various programs.

I work on this project. It raises over or close to $2 Million dollars every Xmas season. Over 100 volunteers come together to put up these lights, usually on a rainy/snowy day and each & every one wouldn’t want to be anywhere else…it is an honour to be involved in the Lights of Hope project.
