Throw Out 50 Things (part 4)
December 9th, 2008 by monnibo
36. Mom and I cleaned out the “fabric box” and donated tons of good-sized fabric scraps, and then threw out all the scrappy ones. The box then became my fabric/sewing/holiday box. So I’ve got all my fabric, patterns, etc. as well as Halloween costumes and Christmas decorations.
37. In cleaning out this box and sorting my new Holiday Box, I donated a 99¢ craft-pack that I thought was tacky. I don’t even know why I bought it.
38. A dictionary from 1992. As I’m planning to be an editor/writer, I really need an updated dictionary. You’d be surprised how much hyphenation and “one word vs. two words” debates can change through the years.
39. A thesaurus from 1994. Same goes for the thesaurus. Don’t worry, I’ll donate these as they are still good basics probably.
40. A plastic ruler that says “Milk Rules” … I think my dad found it in a cereal box and put it in my room. Donate.
41. Empty prescription bottles. Don’t know why they’re hanging around. Are you supposed to recycle these, or rip the labels off? Anyone know?
42. Old newspapers that were hanging around because I meant to clip some articles. Recycled.
43. Old magazines that I thought I would one day get around to reading. Nope just collecting dust. Recycle.
44. Another purse. Cute for the summer, but really can’t hold much so it’s not practical for me… I need a Mary Poppins bag! Donated.
45. A housecoat I got on sale. Kinda sexy/pretty but NOT MY STYLE… why did I buy it? It was on sale for $6. *sigh* … I’ve worn it like twice and it doesn’t even look good on me.
OMG almost there! I’ve probably already reached the challenge, I just can’t remember what I’ve actually discarded.
