Book Blogger Appreciation Week (BBAW)

September 15th, 2008 by monnibo

Some of you may have noticed the trend in my blog in the past year towards books… it’s been a long-time obsession actually. So I started reviewing books I was reading on my blog, not really minding what was “in”. Then I started reading other Book Blogs, and thinking, “Ooo I want to read that.” So my TBR (to be read) list grew…

This week is the First Official Book Blogger Appreciation Week, organized by Amy (of My Friend Amy). I recently had the pleasure of conversing with Amy via email after responding to a graphic designer plea on Trish’s blog – Hey Lady! Whatcha Readin’?

Interested in BBAW? Here are some important links:

And so, after responding to the plea regarding a graphic designer, I present the award graphics. Keep your eyes peeled on book blogger sites everywhere for these little babies (my creations have been shrunk to fit on this page, not spoil the surprise, and so you can’t take ‘em!):

M is for…

September 15th, 2008 by monnibo

Wow am I ever behind on my ABC Along posts! This week is supposed to be R… heh heh… I’m playing catch-up!

M is for MOM…

Mother at the Front Door

This is a photo of her showing me the house when I arrived in Todos Santos, Mexico.

Mom & I at Hotel California

Here is a photo of her and I in Mexico at Hotel California.

My favourite mom / family jokes are: She carried both us girls for 9-months and we’re both blonde-hair-blue-eyes like our father. And: She has three children, one is 20 (me), one is 23 (my sister), and one is 60 (my father!)

WordPress Updates

September 15th, 2008 by monnibo

I just updated to 2.6.2 a couple days ago, and I don’t notice anything different. So today I was looking at the WP Development Blog (read: I subscribe to the feed). They were talking about the release for 2.7 in November and they have a Survey up for users to take. They are hoping to get feedback about Navigation and usability. I thought this was a fabulous idea and when to give my input. Fingers crossed 2.7 is brilliant!

P.S. WP 2.6.2 was mostly security updates.
