Vancouver Chinatown Nightmarket

If you are in the Lower Mainland this summer, consider checking out the Vancouver Chinatown Nightmarket located on Keefer Street and Main Street or the Richmond Nightmarket*.Vancouver Nightmarket opened on May 16th and is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from 6:30pm to 11:00pm until September 7th. From bubble tea, snacks, treats, and electronics, to cards, crafts, decor, and clothes — there is lots to see at Nightmarket.

I got a watch for my boyfriend for $10 — it’s digital and look at this crazy thing it does:

*Oops, I just learned that the Richmond Nightmarket was cancelled for 2008 because the owner of the venue area didn’t decide to renew the lease. The event planners, Target Event, is hoping to find a new location for the 2009 nightmarket.

Guess what?? I too thought the Richmond market was closed for 2008 (http://the-marina.blogspot.com/2008/08/triumphant-return-238.html) but it turns out, they haven’t updated their website in a while. I was out there this past weekend and the market is alive and doing very well, even in rainy weather!

That looks like a neat place to visit. The last time I was in Vancouver was about a decade ago and I must have blinked if I passed by Chinatown cuz I really don’t remember seeing it.
