Books vs. Movies

May 25th, 2008 by monnibo | Alongs, Booking Through Thursday, Books

This one sounds oddly familiar… but I just checked through all the Booking Through Thursdays I’ve participated in, and it’s not there, so carry on! (P.S. Yes, I’m late… sorry.)

Books and films both tell stories, but what we want from a book can be different from what we want from a movie. Is this true for you? If so, what’s the difference between a book and a movie?

There is very little difference, I want to be entertained! That’s the short and long of it. Getting into details, when reading a book, I want plot lines, character development, twists and a good conclusion. With a movie, I need it to be convincing. If the graphics or characters are too fake, it takes away from the story. The plot should still be engaging, but it’s always more simplified compared to books (or the book it’s based on).
