Booking Through Thursday: Connections

Pick up the nearest book. (I’m sure you must have one nearby.)
The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Turn to page 123. What is the first sentence on the page?
“He has stopped talking to her and is looking at us, waiting for us to go on so he and Mama can continue the argument they are having, probably about daffodils, or peonies.”
The last sentence on the page?
“”What do you see?” she asks me.”
Now . . . connect them together…. (And no, you may not transcribe the entire page of the book–that’s cheating!)
Clare is taking her blind grandmother for a walk to the Orchard, they pass her Mama and the Gardener. As they walk Clare describes what she sees and how the Orchard looks. What she sees at the bottom of the page is Henry, her time-travelling love. Her grandmother is actually the only one who ever meets him while he is time-travelling to the past, and Clare is frightened because she knows how weird it is… Henry coming from the future and being ages older than her.
