Internship at ouRHouse!
February 5th, 2008 by monnibo | Books, Out & About, Personal, Travel
I got an internship at Random House Children’s Books in the Editorial Department. So far I’ve just read “slushpile” (unsolicited) manuscripts, written rejection letters, and opened and redirected fanmail (yea I found out where Philip Pullman lives but I wouldn’t dare be unprofessional about it!).
I’ll update more later (hopefully) as this will be an amazing experience! However, my home internet is currently DEAD.

Yay, you did get the internship! Congrats, I cross my fingers that this will open many doors for you. If not come home because a friend’s wife works in a huge marketing firm I’m sure they’d have something for you or know of someone. Networking is good, seriously! Oh and another friend works as a graphic designer for some huge website — not the most elaborate job mostly cut and paste as well as photo-shopping nipples out; however the office is suppose to be really fun. Random House sounds so much better though, reading manuscripts and writing rejection letters I so envy you!
