To the Zoo We Go!

December 8th, 2007 by monnibo | Out & About, Photos / Videos, Travel

On Friday we all went to the London Zoo. We had a lot of fun, got to see the penguins being fed, saw the llamas, and the lion roared at us! (I just asked Coleen the spelling of her name and Harriet said, “Please write Coleen is a tard on your blog. I will pay you.”) We had 2-for-1 coupons for the Zoo entrance. I’m really glad we went, but it being winter it closed at 4pm so we didn’t get to the Zebras and Elephants. Also, there was a lot of construction going on.

The tropical fish were awesome.

The penguins!!!

Feeding time!

There were wires above the enclosure to discourage birds… but some made it in for feeding.

This was my favourite butterfly… an Owl Butterfly.

Look at the little one — it’s wings are transparent in the middle.

These butterfly’s camouflage was amazing.

Camels!

Gorgeous tiger. His teeth were huge.

What an awesome lion!

After the lion finished roaring at us, he rolled over!

Harriet being a meercat!

CW’s special face as a meercat.

Pelicans & Heron.

Look at that wingspan!

Do you know why flamingos are pink? The shrimp they eat!

Nay’s favourite. (Did you know Nay has taken to calling my blog “Monniblog”. Apparently he reads it every day at home… checking it in the morning and again in the afternoon. Obsessive! LOL)

Wow! Those pictures are great! I’ve never seen a butterfly with transparent wings. That was really neat! Reminds me, with this warm weather we’re having, I should take the kids to the zoo. :-)
