1. If you could visit any state in the US, which would it be and why?
I’m going to be difficult right off the bat and alter the Q to be Canadian… so I would like to go to the province of Ontario because our capital city is Ottawa, ON, Canada and I would like to see the Parliament Buildings. I love touristy-historical stuff.

2. If you could visit any country in the world, other than your own, which would it be and why?
Tough! I want to go everywhere. I guess it’s easier to say I’ve been to a bunch of US states, some of England, and Japan… so I’d love to see the rest of Europe. Hmmm probably Italy because it would have the most historical landmarks for me to visit. Rome does claim the start of Western Civilization and whatnot.

3. Have you ever driven across several states/providence/countries?
(Editor Monica kicking in — providence? do you mean Provinces?) Well, to answer the question, I’ve been driven (as a child) from Vancouver, BC, on the coast, to Banff, Alberta (next province over). But during Spring Break (and my 16th birthday) my dad and I took the to-be-mine car on a “test drive” down to San Francisco, California. So we drove across the Canada/US border, into Washington, down the Oregon coast, and crossed over into California shortly before my birthday arrived (March 21st).

4. Have you ever visited someplace you consider exotic? Where was it?
Umm… I’d say Fiji, or Maui, or the Caribbean is exotic… I have been to Hawaii, but I was too little to remember. I’d love to go on a Caribbean cruise!

5. What was your favorite “travel” vacation? Why?
When I was 12, my father planned a Family Vacation to see England (and our family there). I loved it! I have these photos of Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, all the places you see in books on England and the Queen and whatnot. It was amazing! We even got to go see Madame Tussaudes.

Nowadays though, when I got to England (at Christmas) I’m just so excited to travel to see my boyfriend; he lives in Manchester and we’re doing the long distance thing until I move there for a while. Eventually though he wants to move to Canada and be a Canadian citizen. Wow, I get off topic. Anyway – my favourite travelling vacation is the vacation time I spent with the one I love at Christmas in Manchester.

6. Have you ever played tourist in your own home city/state (if international, country)? Explain.
Yep. I’ve wandered around Vancouver and just enjoyed the sights… the historical stuff, gone to Gastown and taken a photo of the steam clock. Just things that you wouldn’t normally appreciate in your own city. Vancouver is amazingly gorgeous, despite the rain, and you don’t really appreciate it till you leave for a while; so I intend to appreciate it while I’m here! It’s really neat to be able to show my boyfriend around my city — it’s less awkward being touristy when you’re sort of the guide. Like biking around the seawall, but stopping to take photos of Stanley Park and the Lion’s Gate Bridge.

7. Are you a museum visitor, beach comer or an amusement seeker?
I’m more of a historical-monument-landmark type person. When I went to London with my boyfriend this past Christmas, he had an exam so I ran around the city taking the photos of all the landmarks I could. (I’m embarrassed by the chubby 12 year old in all the photos I already had of London.) But I got pictures of the Tower of London, London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Parliament Buildings, St. Pauls, Millenium Wheel/London Eye, etcetera.

8. What’s your favorite type of yarn?
Anything that is soft and adult-looking. I’m not so much for the crazy variegated colours… like this one hideous yarn I saw was red, blue, and white and it changed colours! It was crazy… because for me, variegated yarn has to at least be one colour in different shades/hues. I like yarns that aren’t just solid, but may have flecks of other yarns and whatnot woven in. I don’t care if it’s acrylic or fancy/quality stuff… so long as it’s not scratchy. But I’ve never tried anything super fancy. I’ve always wanted to try knitting with cotton yarn (Mother always says 100% cotton breathes well!)

9. What’s your least favorite type of yarn?
Novelty yarn and scratchy yarn (tie). I have a couple knit sweaters (I didn’t make them) that are 100% wool and I just itch-itch-itch in them. I don’t like novelty yarn because I never know what to do with it! Maybe if I had little girls to knit for, it’d be different… but I don’t (and shouldn’t – I’m 19).

10. What items do you like to knit/crochet?
Well, I learned by knitting scarves… but I just made a little capelet that I had a lot of fun with. I’d like to get into knitting more clothes. There is this pair of leg warmers I’ve been eyeing for a couple years now! But really I’m up to a challenge. I really just like to find things I’m interested in… like I just bought a laptop and want to knit a laptop bag, or I found some yarn that matches the paint in my bedroom and I want to knit a blanket/throw for the bed. Mostly practical items I suppose. I’ve never knit socks because I’m scared to try and then screw them up.

11. What do you pack, knit/crochet wise when you go on vacation?
Usually just a never-ending scarf. For vacation, I want something that I can pick-up/put-down no problem. I don’t want to have to worry myself silly about stopping at the end of a row, or marking the pattern so I don’t lose my place.

12. What other crafts do you do/would like to do other than Knit/Crochet?
I scrapbook, but not hardcore — I just like having more space to put the pictures and anecdotes. I sew, but I’m not too great about complicated patterns. I can make pyjama pants from a pattern, sew blankets, hem pants, revamp skirts & tops, but can’t follow a dress pattern! I do design – websites mostly…. umm and eventually sometime in the (not near) future, I want to learn how to quilt. I’d love to be able to make a quilt for my kid …. when that stage of my life comes.

13. Are you allergic to anything? (Yarn wise or treat wise)
Nope. I want to say “scratchy yarn” but really it just pisses me off.

14. What is your favorite color? Least Favorite?
Favourite – blue (ocean to navy, not really baby)
Least favourite – green/orange. To like either of those colours, it has to be just the right hue. (hahah they should have never taught me design!)

15. Sweet or Savory (Treat not personality)?
Savoury… I have sensitive teeth so sweet can’t be too sweet. Like when I eat chocolate, I have to let it melt on my tongue (no complaints!) because when I bite it, it hurts my teeth.

16. Anything else we are forgetting to ask that you think your partner desperately needs to know?
Hmmm…. I could just ramble… I have a cat named Henry, a chinchilla named Chico. I’m 19, and a student wanting to get into Editing. I have a long-distance relationship with a guy from Manchester, England. I want to tour all over Europe, and one day I want to drive across Canada.

I collect patches also from all the places I’ve been. I sew them on a duffle bag. I’m kinda corny-sentimental like that; I love having souvenir-proof and lots of photos! I keep my ticket stubs from all shows, and I have a scrapbook for them. I have a lot of large photo albums too.

I love the history behind visiting someplace new… or revisiting… or just learning all the historical background of somewhere you already know.

I love tea, and coffee too. I love those McVities Light Digestives to dip in my tea… but I can only find them in the UK. I like to scrapbook. I love cats and cows and ducks… and I really want to knit those awesome gnomes!
