Vacation Swap Bingo

June 26th, 2007 by monnibo

Congratulations Amy T., who won the first round of Virtual Vacation Swap Bingo. I was so bummed though! Look at my card… I almost had a vertical line.

But I’m pretty excited for Round 2 of Bingo. We are aiming for a BLACKOUT, that’s when all the squares on the card have been called/covered. I’ve picked some new locations (as the list was updated and hopefully complete)… But I’m not showing my Round 2 card yet! Maybe at the end, for now it’s a secret!

What did everyone else’s Bingo Cards look like?

So the iPod Nano Sock is going okay. I’ve cast on 12sts… but I’m always get anxious about the ends, I’m so bad at weaving them in. Knitters – any suggestions? Also, unlike a dishcloth, the NanoSock is much too small to knit a pattern into it. Any suggestions for how I can make it more interesting? I was thinking of just using an embroidery needle and stitching a little symbol or something in.

Also – I posted this on the Knitters Review Forum, but, if any knitters have/know of a sock-booties pattern similar to my existing (dying/dirty) booties, I would be eternally grateful.

Eyelet Capelet PDF

June 21st, 2007 by monnibo

So this is related to the post of my FO: Eyelet Capelet. If you remember, I made the pattern myself… so now that I have Dreamweaver on my computer and I just bought Fetch… I put the PDF up at Crafty Creations. And to be thoroughly evil, I’m not putting it up here — making you go to see my other silly website!

New Banner

June 20th, 2007 by monnibo

What does everyone think of my mad Illustrator skills? Haha … after spending so much time making “me” I got bored while making Henry and rushed. I wanted to put a stack of books beside me too… but again with the laziness. I’m working off my new CS3 copies of Adobe – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Flash! Yaaay I have the power on my laptop! SFU Microcomputer Store – $400 if you’re a student for the Creative Suite 3.

WikiBirthday Meme

June 19th, 2007 by monnibo

Okay… this is a difficult trail, but I want to credit everyone. I originally found this while surfing KVVS blogs… I went to see Bridget (no particular reason – just clicking tourist names). I left a comment on her blog, and saw that her friend Ingrid had also left a comment. So I went to visit Ingrid’s blog. (Now here is where this Meme comes in…) She mentioned that Ann @ Yellow House Treasures tagged her for this WikiBirthday meme. Then she mentioned The Bag Lady and The Pro, which I’ve surfed over to a few times. Anne (the Bag Lady) mentioned this WikiBirthday Meme too, also crediting it to Ann. So I thought, I better go see Ann to get to the bottom of this!

I found what I was looking for (and another trail of tags)… I guess the deal is, when you tag the 5 friends, they’re supposed to do the meme and continue the tradition.

The Meme: You go to http://www.wikipedia.org/ and type in your birthday (only the month and day). Then you write down 3 events, 2 births, 1 holiday, and then you tag 5 friends.

March 21st:

Events:

Births:

Holiday:

  • Vernal Equinox (first day of spring – can vary from year to year.)
  • United Nations officially recognizes the Equinotical Earth Day (although it was later promoted/celebrated on April 22nd.)

Chocolatey Confessions

June 13th, 2007 by monnibo

BF is a chocoholic… yet he gives up chocolate for Lent (back in March/April). Lent finishes on Easter Sunday, ensuing a binge of chocolatey-goodness. I believe this is where the statement, “Egg-shaped chocolate tastes better” comes from. So after Easter, when the chocolate went on sale, I bought a few different eggs. Well, BF arrives on Sunday — and I dipped into the Chocolate Stash!! … the caramel in the Rolo Egg had kinda hardened… making it more like a chewy-soft-caramel because the packaging wasn’t quite airtight. Despite it not tasting like a Rolo, it was quite good. Haha… I broke the news to BF earlier today. (I saved the Turtles Egg for him.)

In other Confessions… I haven’t been knitting. I want to get some 100% cotton yarn for a Roman Top I’m planning on starting. But I saw the cutest watermelon dress yesterday on Laurie K.’s blog. It’s moments like that I wish I had a little daughter… and then I remember I’m only 19 and just wish I could borrow a daughter to dress up and buy cute clothes for! My poor future-daughter is going to have soooo many photos of her in cute little outfits in the backyard or something! …. my poor friends who will have to coo over the many photos… (Oh they’ll coo for real at first, but it’ll get old after the first few hundred photos.)

I’m not creepy… just amusing.
