I knit Henry a snake by mother’s request. He loves it. As soon as he met it he killed it with his claw and teeth and marched into the kitchen carrying his conquest in his mouth. I believe that he and his snake will be ever-so-close.

I never did share what Craig and I gave each other for Christmas. I wanted to post
pictures of the blanket I sewed for him ages ago but was worried he might be sneaky and check here. So of course, I didn’t. (He knew he was getting a Peanuts blanket but he didn’t know exaaaactly what it looked like). And I was supposed to give him Calvin & Hobbes’ Homocidal Psycho Jungle Cat but I got the book in like October and sent it to him early… And then I had no idea what he was getting me! Selling point: There are pictures!

It may have taken me a long time, but I finally finished it. I’m especially proud of the picot edge on the holly leaves. Sometimes I didn’t know what I was doing; I watched a video of picot edging online and Craig’s mum showed me a couple things before I left.
Craig’s grandmother gave me a bunch of yarn before I left also so I’m sending this back to her as a thank-you. I’m also sending his granddad some of the photos I took during Christmas because I burned some other photos off him.
And Craig’s other grandparents I’m sending a thank-you and Hedgehogs for his Grandad and his Grandma is diabetic so I’ve got this nice photo frame and I thought I’d put a picture of Craig and I during Christmas. It’ll be a shock for Craig when he sees it at his Grandparent’s house.

I will knit what Grandma Pat taught me. I will knit baubles, dolls and tea cozies. I will learn to quilt. I want to make myself a quilt; I sort of wish I’d gotten Monique to teach me. I want to rent a pottery wheel. I want to make cups or bowls or something.

I’m sad to have to leave. Sad to leave Craig. I miss Craig, Flossy, Ava, Charlie. Sorry to say goodbye to Craig’s family. Not really jet-lagged; threw up on the plane then took Gravol and slept like a baby. Happy to see mom and Henry. Tried to roll over in my sleep (used to a double bed) and smacked my head on the wall. Happy to be in the convienency of Vancouver. Home, Strange Home.

(8:20pm) Yesterday we got the Virgin Train to London because Craig’s exam was today. We had booked a room in Enfield (close to his University) for the evening in a Comfort Hotel. The bed was huge so I sprawled out on it and played Animal Crossing while Craig revised for the exam. He discovered how tiny the shower was though when he tried to turn around and pushed the tap to cold. Speaking of Animal Crossing though… it makes me want to get a Nintendo DS. It’s basically where you live in this town and you need to pay off your house morgage; every time you do, Tom Nook expands your house. I helped earn and extra floor and Craig let me decorate it however I wanted; you can get wallpaper, carpets/tiles, furniture, musical instraments, random useless crap, and a number of other items. You are able to shake trees (look out for bees!) to get random items, money (Bells), or fruit. You can fish, collect shells, catch bugs, dig for fossils, and speak to all the animals/residents of your town. Basically you just exist in the town, can sell about everything to Tom Nook (who owns theb store) to earn Bells to pay for your house or buy stuff.
But enough about Animal Crossing DS – Today I spent the day running around London on the trains and tube. I’ll give you a full report with the pictures later (because that was the whole point). But basically I planned out a route to hit as many “big” items as I could: Tower Bridge, Big Ben, St. Paul’s, Buckingham Palace… those kinds of attractions. Craig met me after his exam and we headed back to Euston to catch a return train.
P.S. Bull Mastiffs are so awesome! I don’t know if I posted this but we went to visit Craig’s godparents and they have a HUGE bull mastiff! His name is Floyd and he is the son of Craig’s first dog – Gratch (who was also a bull mastiff). When Craig and I get pets I’d so be down for a bull mastiff!
